Dear family, friends and Towing Community, it is with great sadness that we must share the news of a fellow and well respected member of the Towing and Recovery Industry who has lost his battle with Leukemia. Bob DeWitt of Noonan, NB, beloved husband of Jean (McLean) De Witt, departed this life surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Bob is remembered as a hard worker, a good guy, a good friend, a loving husband, father and grandfather to his family and he will be sorely missed. Bob owned and operated Bob’s Towing Ltd.

Born in Fredericton on March 14, 1944, Bob was the only son of the late Alvin and Evelyn (Smythe) DeWitt.

Bob leaves behind his dear wife Jean; a son, Robbie (Valerie Brice) of Maugerville and daughters, Karen Miner (Robert), Brenda Lee Mclean-Savoie and Cindy DeWitt (Kevin) all of Fredericton. His three cherished grandchildren, Colby James DeWitt, Kendra Lee Miner and Gabriel McLean Savoie always held a special place in his heart. Bob will be fondly remembered by sister-in-law Joyce Stewart (Sterling) and brothers-in-law, Raymond McLean (Dawn) and Ralph McLean (Treva) as well as a number of nieces and nephews. Bob’s faithful canine companion "Princess" will sadly miss Bob’s presence and love.

A service celebrating the life of Bob DeWitt will be held from Cornerstone Worship Centre, 350 Rte.10 Hwy, Richibucto Rd., Fredericton on Friday, June 30, 2017 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Chris Price officiating. Friends may visit with the family at the church on Friday from 12:00 Noon to 1:45 PM. A reception will be held at the church following the service with interment in the United Church Cemetery, Chipman, NB, at 4:00 PM. For those who those wish to remember Bob by way of a memorial contribution, the family suggests donating to the Jemseg Baptist Church.
