Ashley Neil Sloat passed away at home on Monday June 26, 2017. Ashley was born on July 11, 1937, he was the son of the late Lloyd and Edna (Barr) Sloat.

Ashley was a local business man and was retired for 20 years. He was a past member of the Kinsman Club, the Fredericton City Club, the Horsemans Association and the Exhibition Board. Ashley was an avid horseman and had many years racing, breeding and training.

He loved to travel and had a home in Florida for many years. His passion at home was his flowers.

He is survived by his wife Joan; children Janet (Don), Geordie (Ellen), Karen (Tim); grand daughter Amrin Sloat; brothers Harry (Judi), Glen (Glenna), Osborne; sister Mavis; many nieces and nephews; sister-in-laws Shirley Sloat, Nancy Sloat and Vera Shapleigh. Predeceased by brothers Lester, Hazen and sisters Joanne and Sharon.

The family wishes for you to join them in a celebration of his life on Tuesday July 4, 2017 from 6:00 - 8:30 PM at the Delta Hotel, Woodstock Road. Arrangements are entrusted with Bishop’s Funeral Home , 540 Woodstock Road (458-1885).

Memorials in Ashley's name may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
