Gertrude Jane McKeen passed away peacefully at the Doctor Everett Chalmers Hospital on June 3, 2017 at the age of 92.  Born March 10, 1925 in Lower Queensbury, New Brunswick to the Late Chester Yerxa and Lydia Brewer. Gertrude was a proud sister to 15 brothers and sisters.

A lifelong resident of Upper Kingsclear, Gertrude was predeceased by her husband Bennett McKeen, brothers David, Gerald, Royden, Harold, Dale, Arden, Russell, and Wayne; and sisters Muriel, Evelyn, Marjorie and Greta. 

She is survived by her brother Philip and two sisters Connie LeBritton (George) and Ruth Hill (Fergus) as well as her daughter Una Cairns, two sons, John McKeen (Donna) and George McKeen (Lynn); grandchildren Pamela Whitlock (Junior), Malcolm Cairns, David Cairns (Bethie), Danny Cairns (Louisa), Troy McKeen (Alicia), Kevin McKeen (Debra), Shawn McKeen (Amanda), Vanessa McKeen (Kyle), Jennifer McKeen and Andrew McKeen.  Great-grandchildren Holly and Mackenzie Cairns, Brandon and Kyle Cairns, Justin Cairns, Chase and Luc McKeen, Morgan and Myles McKeen, Maverick and MacKenna McKeen, Cheyenna Smith and Jack McKeen.

Visitation will take place at Bishop's Funeral Home at 540 Woodstock Road in Fredericton on Monday, June 5th between 7 and 9 pm. The funeral service will begin at 2 pm on Tuesday, June 6th at the Upper Kingsclear Baptist Church located at 15 Mazerolle Settlement Road in Upper Kingsclear with Rev. Peter Valji officiating. Interment to follow in the 2nd Kingsclear Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers for the service will be grandchildren; Troy McKeen, Kevin McKeen, Shawn McKeen, Vanessa McKeen, Jennifer McKeen and Andrew McKeen.
