It is with sad hearts that the family of Millicent Leah Dickeson announce her passing on Saturday May 27, 2017 at Frederick Hall, Fredericton at the age of 90. Born in Fredericton, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Leah (Petitte) Poore and wife of the late Merrill Dickeson. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Millicent worked as a telephone operator for NB Tel for many years before joining the Canadian Armed Forces where she served during World War II 1944-1945. After her service she returned to the phone company. In her later years, she was employed at "Edith’s" Bridal Store in Fredericton. She was an avid reader, a Lioness for years, and thoroughly enjoyed her time at the cottage at Davidson Lake.
She is survived by her children Dale Dickeson (Barb) of Fredericton, Ken Dickeson (Deb) of Fredericton, Leah Parker (Pat) of Oromocto, Neil Dickeson (Helen) of Calgary, Myles Dickeson of Toronto, Joanne Ashade (John) of Fredericton, Arlene Dickeson of Silven Lake, AB; grandchildren Mark, Dana, Millicent, Carlene, Patrick, Stacy, Karen, Jeanine, Tyler, Eric, Brian, Alicia, Jackie, Stephanie, Billie-Jo, Merrillee, Adam, Amy, and Janelle; numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also predeceased by three grandsons Joey and Stevie and Craig Dickeson; two sisters and a brother.
No visitation by request. A private family graveside service will be held.
