Steven C. H. Whalen of Fredericton, NB passed away May 5, 2017 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Steve was born in Montreal, Quebec in 1961, a son of Gary Whalen and the late Betty (Shaw) Whalen.

He is survived by his daughters, Melissa Whalen (Adrian Paul) and Emily Whalen both of Fredericton, NB; a granddaughter, Letti Paul; two sisters, Miriam Mielus of Phoenix, Arizona and Mica Whalen of Fredericton, NB; two brothers, Graeme Whalen of Vancouver, BC, and Barry Pipestem of Toronto, ON; his father, Gary Whalen (Margaret) of Montreal, QC and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

 Before an accident ten years ago limited his mobility to a wheelchair, Steve was an outdoor person, enjoying fishing, hunting and the woods. Prior to his accident, he was employed with Jones Masonry for a number of years. Steve loved his daughters and was happy when he became a grandfather to Letti.

Honoring Steve’s wishes cremation has been held. A time for a celebration of his life will be held at Bishop’s Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road on Thursday May 11, 2017 from 12:00 noon – 2:00 PM, followed by words of Remembrance and a Blessing. A private interment of ashes will be held at a later date.
