At the York Care Center on Thursday April 27, 2017, Audrey "Duddie" Hilda MacDonald of Fredericton passed away at the age of 98. Born in Fredericton NB, she was a daughter of the late Fletcher Lyman and Lydia Adelia (Gordon) Foster.

Duddie was a member of the Gibson Memorial United Church where she was very active in the UCW for many years.  She was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #4, Elm Tree Square Dancers, the Girl Guides (Brown Owl) and Ladies Bowling league in Nassis.  She also volunteered at the Chalmers Hospital Auxiliary, the Women’s Institute and York Care Centre.

Audrey was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

She is survived by her daughter Jill Murray (Robert) of Fredericton, 2 sons; Greg of St Stephen and Joel (Brenda) of New Maryland.  Eight grandchildren; Stephen Murray (Nami), Andrew Murray (Nicole), Gretchen Murray (Adam), Patrick Murray (Elizabeth), Nicholas (Lindsay), Kaitlin (Jeremy) Pauley, Kyle MacDonald (Danica) and Brent Macdonald (Kelly), 12 great grandchildren as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Audrey was predeceased by her husband Frederick Lyman MacDonald, son Jimmy MacDonald, 2 sisters Muriel Cogswell and Gretchen Reilly, as well as special friend Milton Robinson.

Although there will be no visitation.  A celebration of life will be held on Monday May 1st, 2017 at 2 PM from Bishop’s Funeral Home Chapel with Pete Thomas officiating.  A reception to follow.  Interment will be held at a later date.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at York care center for all of their care and compassion shown to Audrey during her stay.

Memorials made to the York Care Center or Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
