Janice E. Kitchen
It is with sad hearts that the family of Janice Evelyn Kitchen, beloved wife of Darrell A. Kitchen, announce her peaceful passing at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on Monday, April 10, 2017. Janice was 76. Janice was born in Grand Falls, NB, on November 19, 1940 a daughter of the late Charles Henry McLaughlin and the late Mary Marguerite (Canam) McLaughlin.
Janice was a long-time and faithful member of Smythe Street Cathedral, Fredericton. For many years, Janice was employed as Administrative Assistant in the U.N.B. Awards Office. She was an avid quilter and was an active member of the Elm City Quilters Guild.
Besides her loving and devoted husband Darrell, Janice took great joy in raising her two daughters, Jennifer Kitchen Gregan of Fredericton and Stephanie Kitchen Behling (Allen) of Florida and was continually delighted by her much loved and treasured granddaughter, Taylor Gregan. Janice was a cherished sister to Patricia Bridges of Fredericton, Linda Scott of Grande Prairie, AB and Diane Shannon (Mike) of Mazerolle Settlement; nieces and nephews. She is also survived by sister-in-law, Judy McLaughlin of Staples Settlement, NB and a brother-in-law, Eugene Taylor (Bonnie) of Quebec.
Aside from her parents, Janice was predeceased by a brother, David McLaughlin; brothers-in-law, Edward Ronald Bridges and Ronald Scott; a sister-in-law Sandra Taylor and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Clifford and Glenda Kitchen.
Visitation for Janice will be held at Smythe Street Cathedral, 913 Smythe Street, Fredericton on Saturday, April 15, 2017 from 12 Noon until service time at 2:00 PM. Rev. Jim Lewis and Rev. Verner Drost will officiate. Interment in the Prince William Cemetery at a later date. Those wishing to make donations in memory of Janice Kitchen are asked to consider the Alzheimer’s Society of NB.
