Margaret Frances Gibson passed away at Brunswick Hall (Parkland Shannex) on Tuesday, April 4, 2017.

She was born December 24, 1916 at Fredericton the daughter of George and Minnie (Bishop) Gay.

Margaret is survived by son Donald Gibson of Fredericton; sister Frances Maxam of Richmond BC and several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her parents, brothers Robert Gay, John Gay, Fred Gay, sister Jean Olive and niece Margaret Olive.

Margaret was an amazing person with a magnetic personality as people of all ages were instantly drawn to her. Living most of her life on the family farm with brother Fred, she had a love of nature reflected by her beautiful flower gardens and her interest in birds and mammals. A gifted craftsperson, Margaret won many prizes for knitted and crocheted items. Even in her final days she was producing dish clothes and coasters which she readily gave away, often to people she had just met.   She was a member of the DECH Hospital Auxiliary, proudly serving there since 1975.

On the day before Christmas 2016 she celebrated her 100th birthday and appropriately welcomed about 100 well-wishers. Margaret didn’t want to miss a minute of life.

Special thanks to the staff at Brunswick Hall with whom she formed a warm relationship.

Resting at Bishop’s Funeral Home 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton with visitation on Saturday April 8 and Sunday April 9 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A graveside service will be held a later date.

For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the donor’s choice.
