At the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on Sunday March 26, 2017, Richard M. Clarke, of Fredericton passed away at the age of 77. Born in Minto, NB, he was a son of the late Harold and Hazel (MacFarlane) Clarke.

He was employed at Hartt’s Shoe Factory early in his life, he then worked at the Marysville Cotton Mill, where he met his wife. Richard spent the majority of his working years with Fredericton City Transit performing  mechanical maintenance. His passion was working on cars. He also loved birdwatching.

He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Marsha; his daughter Lisa Turnbull (Jeffrey) of Marysville; a son Richie Clarke (Wanda) of Williamsburg; four grandchildren Sandy Turnbull (Jenn), Avery Turnbull, Sierra Turnbull, Alyssa Clarke; a sister Marion Clarke of Fredericton. Besides his parents, he was also predeceased by a brother Kenneth Clarke.

There will be no visitation, by request. A graveside service will be held at a later date. Memorials to the Kidney Foundation or the NB Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family. Bishop’s Funeral Home 540 Woodstock Road Fredericton have been entrusted with the arrangements.
