At the Dr. Chalmers Regional Hospital on Saturday March 11, 2017, Frederick J. Novak of Maugerville, passed away at the age of 77. Born in Sydney, NS, he was a son of Catherine (Fitzgerald) Novak and the late Alois (Eli) Novak.

Fred was a self employed Contactor. He was affiliated with the Anglican Church and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion #93, Oromocto, NB

He is survived by his mom Catherine (Cassie) Novak; children Joanne Novak, Matthew Novak (Vicki), Christopher Novak and Eric Novak (Meghan); 7 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; brothers Raymond, Al and Jim; sisters Alma, Betty, Norma and Josephine; numerous nieces and nephews, special friend Darrell Hazlett who let Fred know he always had a "friend". Predeceased by his father, brothers Gerald and Louis, sister Kay.

Following cremation, the family will hold a celebration of life at the Maugerville Community Center on Thursday March 16, 2017 from 12 - 2 and 7 - 9 PM. Interment will be held later in the spring.

Memorials to the Royal Canadian Legion #93 or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
