The passing of Loreck Alexander (Rex) Davis of Fredericton occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on Saturday, March 4, 2017. He was 82. Born April 19, 1934 at Taxis River, NB, he was the son of the late Margaret (Reid) (Munn) Davis and Frank Henry Davis.

Rex was Presbyterian by faith. Throughout his working career he was employed with Ashley Colter Ltd., Irving Oil Ltd. and The Trius Group. Rex was a member of Loyal Orange Lodge - Equal Rights # 32 and RBP # 308 Whitestone for many years having received the Red Cross Degree. He also held the office of Tyler in the Grand Black Chapter of New Brunswick. He was also a member of the Johnson Avenue Seniors Group.

Rex is survived by his four children, Don Davis (Cathy) of Fredericton, Ann Martin (Richard) of Burtt’s Corner, Earl Davis (Tammy) of Fredericton and Colleen Watson (Tony) of Fredericton; 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law Ray Hood (Paulette) and sister-in-law Emily Hood both of Cross Creek, NB; two nieces Eva Munn and Dolores McKeil (Milton) both of Fredericton; several cousins. Rex is also survived by a special friend, Theresa Pitre of Minto, NB.  

Besides his parents, Rex was predeceased by his wife Carol Ann (Hood) Davis (2007); a brother William Davis; a half-brother Lewis Munn, half-sister Christina Munn, brother-in-law Joe Hood and a nephew Paul Munn.

There will be no visitation or formal funeral service at this time.  A private family graveside committal service will be held in St. Peter’s Presbyterian Cemetery, Stanley, NB at a later date. Memorials to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.

The family are so grateful for the staff of Pine Grove Nursing Home and the excellent care Rex received while a resident there.
