It is with sad hearts that the family of Leon Wilfred Mazerolle of Harvey Station, NB, announce his passing on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Leon was 74. Born in Fredericton on August 3, 1942, he was a son of the late Wilfred and Mildred (Mazerolle) Mazerolle.

Leon was a faithful and dedicated member of Immaculate Conception R. C. Church, Cork, NB for many years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and was a founding member of the Nackawic Knights of Columbus.

A Welder by trade, he began his welding career at the Saint John, NB, Dry Dock and then with Tractors and Equipment Ltd., retiring from St. Anne-Nackawic Co. Ltd. An avid outdoorsman, Leon enjoyed skiing, snowmobiling, working in his garden and especially handing firewood every Fall.

Leon leaves behind his loving wife of 51 years, Bonnie (Phillips) Mazerolle; two devoted sons, Christopher Mazerolle of Harvey, NB and Michael Mazerolle (Jennifer) of Hanwell Road, NB. His grandsons Noah of Harvey and Matthew of Hanwell and his chosen granddaughter Alyssa Anderson (Ryan) of Calgary AB always held a special place in his heart. Leon is also survived by brothers, Gregory Mazerolle (Frances) of Newmarket, NB and John Mazerolle (Sondra) of Mazerolle Sett., NB as well as several nieces, nephews and six very special (Chessie) cousins.

Aside from his parents, Leon was predeceased by his daughter-in-law Shari Mazerolle and a special uncle, Father Tony Mazerolle S.J.

At the request of the family there will be no visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, March 2, 2017 at 10:00 AM from Holy Family (Parish) Church, 1500 Hanwell Road, Fredericton, with Father Monte Peters as celebrant. Interment in the Immaculate Conception R. C. Cemetery, Cork, NB, at a later date.
