It is with profound sadness that we the family of Carl Sacobie announce his passing at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on Sunday January 15, 2017. Our much beloved Dad and Grandfather "Gramps" was born on November 24, 1942, a son of the late Clara Brooks and Donald Sacobie.

As a young man Carl was a proud student at St. Thomas, Chatham, NB. In 1965 Carl left New Brunswick to make a life and started a family in the State of Connecticut, where he was employed with the Hartford Courant and later the Continental Can Company in Portland. Carl then returned home to St. Mary’s First Nation. His quest for knowledge and education was then continued at St. Thomas University. Carl enjoyed life with friends, a good card game and his many beloved pets over the years.

Recently he decided he needed to work on his bucket list and do a bit of travelling. Carl went on a grand adventure that found him in Boston for a Bruins game and to have a drink at Cheers. He went to Virginia Beach and made his way to Graceland for Elvis’s 80th birthday. Then it was on to Bourbon Street in New Orleans to listen to a little Jazz music.

The following summer included a walk down memory lane in Connecticut and a baseball game at Fenway Park. The Red Sox beat the Yankees! His recent trip was to Boston where he attended try outs for the Wheel of Fortune "He smiled so big as he lived out his dream of doing so."

Carl is survived by his daughters Katie (Willie), Candy (Jeff); his son Shane; he will be forever missed by grandchildren Richard, Steven, William, Faith and Abbey; great grandchildren Jaxson, Will, Karlie, Cannon and Katie; several nieces, nephews and godchildren. Besides his parents Carl was predeceased by his sisters Sylvia (Paul) McPhee, Annette Sacobie and auntie Matilda Sappier.

Visitation will begin Tuesday January 17, 2017 at 3:00 PM at his late home 270 Maliseet Drive, St. Mary’s First Nation and all day Wednesday January 18, 2017. A mass celebrating Carl’s life will be held on Thursday January 19, 2017 at 11:00 AM from St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Rev. Monte Peters officiating. Cremation then to take place followed by burial in the spring.

Pallbearers will be Richard Giannini, Steven Paul, William Paul, Hubert Paul, Alvis Paul and Mark Brooks

Carl was a "RED SOX FAN", show him some love, we ask that you wear a Red Sox Shirt. It is now with a heavy heart that I say… Elvis has left the building.
