It is with deep sadness that the family of Robert "Bob" Jones announces his passing on November 15, 2016 at the Dr. Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born in Fredericton, NB on March 1, 1935, a son of the late Isabel (Fraser/Jones) Bernard and Oris Jones, also predeceased by his step father Joseph Bernard and brother Spencer Bernard.
Bob was a great tease with a love for life, he enjoyed his motorcycle and his Siamese cat Saboo. He retired after working for 42 years with Ben’s Bakery, so he could enjoy his time at Davidson Lake with family and friends. Bob was an avid Toronto Maple Leaf fan and looked forward to his annual Christmas trips to Ohio.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Sharon (Hay); his pride and joy son Rockland Jones and his family Susan (Catalano); grandchildren Isabel and Cameron. He will be deeply missed by his step sisters and many nieces, nephews and friends.
A memorial gathering will be held on Sunday November 20, 2016 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at Bishop’s Funeral Home 540 Woodstock Road, at which time an informal sharing of memories and remembrances will take place.
Memorials in Bob’s memory may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
