It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Betty MacTavish-Prime on October 22, 2016 at the Dr. Chalmers Regional Hospital. Betty was born in Stanley, NB a daughter of the late Harry and Evelyn (White) Leachman.

She was a life-long member of St. Mary’s Anglican Church, and a well-known travel agent, owning Cherry’s/ MacTavish Travel.

Surviving are her husband Don Prime; daughter Kathy McBride (Gerry); sons Tim, Andy (Susan), and Scott (Debbie); daughter-in-law Nancy; step daughters Cindy Barry (Mike), and Barbie Burtt (George); step son John Prime (Angela); grandchildren Jill, Lindsay, Christy, Jenny, Charles, Erika, Ben, Katie, Maggie, Madison, Emma-Mae and Cole; 8 great grandchildren; step grandchildren; brother-in-law Boyd MacTavish; sisters-in-law Helen MacTavish and Shirley Leachman; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her first husband Charlie MacTavish, son Donnie, brothers Glen, Vaughan and Donald, sister Helen.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Ruest and the staff of 4NW for their compassionate and competent care.

Visitation will be held at St. Mary’s Anglican Church, McEvoy Street on Tuesday October 25, 2016 from 3:00 to 6:00 PM. A celebration of Betty’s life will be held from the church on Wednesday October 26, 2016 at 11:00 AM with Father Kevin Stockall officiating. A reception will be held in the church hall immediately following the service. Private interment at Sunny Bank Cemetery.

No flowers by request, memorials may be made to the St. Mary’s Anglican Church or a charity of the donor’s choice. In Betty’s memory, please perform an act of kindness towards someone in need.
