The passing of Carol Sabattis of Kingsclear First Nation, widow of the late Royden M. Sabattis, occurred Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Carol was 67. Born in Oromocto, NB, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Marjorie (Sacobie) Atwin.

Roman Catholic by faith, she worked at the Wulastukw Elementary School for many years and also cooked for St. Anne’s Day in Kingsclear.

Surviving are two daughters, Jennifer Atwin and Hillary Sabattis (J.R. Palmer) and a son Scott Sabattis all of Kingsclear; several grandchildren; brothers Philip Atwin and Tommy Atwin; sisters, Genevieve Atwin, Barb Atwin, Theresa Atwin, Gertrude Tomah and Yvonne Polchies; nieces, nephews.

Aside from her parents and husband Royden, Carol was predeceased by several brothers and sisters.

Resting at her home, 423 Kingsclear Ave., Kingsclear First Nation on Thursday and Friday October 6 and 7. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held from St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church, Kingsclear First Nation, on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at 11:00 AM with Father Aaron Knox as celebrant. Interment to follow in the adjoining church cemetery. The family has designated the Canadian Diabetic Association (NB) and The Kidney Foundation for memorial contributions.
