Peacefully, surrounded by family, at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital in Fredericton, NB on September 14, 2016, "Grammy Lue" Luella Jane Peterson (nee Devitt), wife of the late Vincent "Vince" B. Peterson went to be with her Lord and Saviour. Born at Veysey, ON on November 30, 1934, she was a daughter of the late Roland and Cora (Black) Devitt. 

A loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and sister, she is survived by her   three children, Deborah (Allen) Lawson of Saint John, NB and their children Jenna Lue Lawson of Edmonton, AB and Michael (Shyla) Lawson (and their children Jayson and Brooke) of Saint John, N.B.; Ronah MacLaren of Petitcodiac, NB and her children Nicole (Dale) O’Donnell (and their son Kent) of Fredericton, NB, Paige (Brad) Boudreau (and their children Avery and Chloe) of Ripples, NB and Frederick MacLaren (Tammy Tingley) (and their children Davis and Preston); Timothy (Charlene) Peterson of Douglas Harbour, NB and their children JoAnne (Kevin) Dubblestein (and their children Mya and Maci) of Kingston, ON, Joel Peterson of Fredericton, NB and Josh Peterson of Ripples, NB; numerous nieces and nephews. Luella is also survived by sisters Barbara Devitt and Marlene (Peter) Meika, brothers Robert Devitt and Hugh Coulson, and sisters-in-law Jo Coulson and Marion Coulson.  Aside from her parents and husband Vince, she was pre-deceased by son-in-law Fred MacLaren, brothers William Coulson and Ross Coulson, sister-in-law Margaret Devitt, and several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law from the Peterson family.

Children held a special place in her heart and this was evident by the MANY who very fondly called her "Grammy Lue".  She was a homemaker who worked hard for her family, friends, and church.  She was a founding member of Capital Community Church and served as Sunday School Secretary, assisting her husband who was Sunday School Superintendent, for 22 years.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Bishop’s Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Monday September 19, 2016 from 2pm-4pm and 6pm-8pm at Capital Community Church. The funeral service will be held from the church on Tuesday September 20, 2016 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Jack Leaman and Rev. Allen Lawson officiating.  Interment at the Ripples Cemetery at 4:00pm.  Donations to the H.O.M.E. International Orphanage, Guatamala (c/o Capital Community Church) would be appreciated so Grammy Lue’s passion for caring for children will continue.
