At the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on August 31, 2016, Robert Goodrich Sloat of Fredericton, formerly of Crock’s Point, NB, passed away at the age of 97. Born in Crock’s Point, he was a son of the late Albert Goodrich and Luly Ann (Lunt) Sloat. Robert was a retired Dairy Farmer and a former member of the All Saints Anglican Church in Crock’s Point Road.

Robert was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He is survived by three daughters Marilyn Carlisle (George Lawrence) of Crock’s Point, NB, Nancy Grimm (Paul) of Berwick, NS, Linda Haines (Cedric) of Fredericton; eight grandchildren Charlotte Haines, Valerie Haines and William Haines, Sally O’Neill and Cathy Oulton, Mary Ellen Etheridge, Joanna Adams and Michael Carlisle; sixteen great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; caregiver, Vicki Willis. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Emily Matilda (Patterson) Sloat in 1996; a brother Albert Sloat; three sisters Susie Gilmore, Mildred Dunphy and Edith Reed; a friend, Ruby Gillingham.

 No visitation, at his request. A memorial service will be held at All Saints Anglican Church at Crock’s Point Road in Keswick Ridge on Saturday, September 3, 2016 at 2pm with Venerable John Sharpe officiating. Interment will follow the service in the adjoining cemetery. Memorials to the Canadian Red Cross, Saint John Ambulance (Keswick Division) or to a favorite charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
