          With sad hearts, the family of Marilyn Helen (Stairs) Khoury, announce her sudden passing on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at the age of 76. Marilyn was born in Woodstock, NB, a daughter of the late Harry W. and Catherine E. (Hanson) Stairs.

 

          Marilyn was a 1956 graduate of the Keswick Ridge Rural High School then furthered her education by attending NBCC in Woodstock. She represented her graduating class at both schools as valedictorian. While in school, Marilyn worked at the former Paradise Resturant. After graduation, her working career included employment at Chestnut Canoe Factory, and further administration assistant work in Montreal. Later she would own and operate Boutique Jack and Jill in the former Fredericton Mall. Prior to her retirement she was Office Administrator for the Fredericton Canadian Red Cross.

Marilyn’s two precious daughters were her pride and joy.

She felt very fortunate to have her youngest daughter home for the past two years and treasured many special moments sharing their mutual love of music, flowers, food and fur babies.

          Marilyn is survived by her loving and devoted daughter, Susan Marilyn Khoury of Fredericton; her sister H. Mary Paul-Bradley (Peter) of Kingston, ON and brothers Bob (Judy) Stairs of Keswick Ridge and Brian (Sandra) Stairs of Fredericton; nieces and nephews.

          Marilyn was tragically predeceased by her eldest daughter Sonya Elizabeth in 1982. She was further predeceased by her parents and brothers Weldon, Blaine, William, Michael and Paul Stairs.

          The family will receive relatives and friends at Bishop’s Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton on Sunday, August 21, 2016 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A service celebrating the life of Marilyn Khoury will be held from Bishop’s Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, August 22 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Paul Thompson officiating. Interment will be private.
