It is with deep sadness that the family of Lee Murray Hawkins announce her death which occurred peacefully on Friday July 1, 2016 in Fredericton, NB.  She was surrounded at the moment of her passing by her children and siblings as she had been throughout her illness.

Lee was born in Campbellton NB on September 8th, 1951 as the third child of Paul and Patricia Murray (deceased) and raised in nearby Glencoe with her five siblings.  She worked in Ontario prior to returning to New Brunswick where she was employed by the Province and retired from the Department of Natural Resources.  Lee maintained many life friends throughout her employment and made many more as a yoga instructor.

Lee was a woman of deep faith and a long time member of Holy Family Parish.  She had many gifts which she shared willingly with all who crossed her path. She demonstrated her spirituality and welcomed people in her life without hesitation or judgement.   Lee enjoyed varied and simple activities including music, people watching, the market, yoga, and conversation with friends and strangers.  She was simply a genuine person with the unique ability to find joy and humour in everyday life.

Lee was grateful for many things in her life however made it well known that she considered her deepest blessing to be her two children, Emily and Michael.  She is survived by them as well as her five siblings, Lynn Bailey (Ray), David (Debbie), Paula, Mamie (Gerald) and Therese; nieces and nephews Jessica, Alex, Christopher, Jonathan, Jennifer, Shannon, and great niece Matayah.  Lee knew she was well loved by many others including extended family members and close friends who are sure to miss her dearly.

The family of Lee Murray Hawkins would like to express sincere appreciation to Doctors Gensin, Razza and Gowan as well as all employees and volunteers of DECH (particularly those in Oncology and Palliative) who showed great competence, compassion and respect for Lee throughout her care.  We are forever grateful.
