The passing of Marie Ann Lea Cormier of Fredericton NB and formerly of Scoudouc NB occurred peacefully at the York Care Center, Fredericton on Sunday, June 5, 2016 at the age of 96.

Marie was a daughter of the late Joseph and Alvina (Belliveau) Melanson and wife of the late Zoel Alire Cormier, and the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was a very faithful member of the Roman Catholic Church. 

She is survived by her daughter Zoe Steeves (Lloyd) of Liverpool NS; 2 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; a great great grandson; several nieces and nephews. Aside from her parents and husband she was predeceased by 2 sons Clifford and Guy, a granddaughter Catherine Magill, 3 brothers and 2 sisters.

Visitation will be held from Frenette’s Funeral Home, Shediac NB on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 from 7 to 9 PM only.  A funeral service will be held from Frenette’s Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at11:00 AM with a reception held immediately following. Interment in the St. Jacques Cemetery, Scoudouc NB.
