The death of Lawrence Timothy Swazey occurred suddenly in Fredericton on Sunday May 8, 2016. Born in Boiestown, NB on  February 18, 1929, he was a son of the late Fred and Mary (Vickers) Swazey.

He lived and worked in the Boiestown area during the early part of his life until 1952 when he came to Fredericton and worked in Supermarket Food Stores until his retirement thirty eight years later in 1990. Lawrence was a member of the Capital Winter Club, the Miramichi Salmon Association, the Fredericton Golden Club and a long standing member of St. Dunstan’s Roman Catholic Church.

He is survived by his son Tim of Fredericton; a sister Vivien Brennan of Moncton; four brothers Vincent (Hazel) and James (Caroline) of Boiestown, Lloyd (Patricia) of Calgary, AB and Darrell (Georgette) of Toronto, ON; sister-in-law Jackie Ross of Boiestown; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Annie "Anne" in January of 2011; a sister Doreen Stewart; brothers-in-law Joe Brennan, Joe McCloskey, Vaughan Ross and Harley Stewart.

No visitation by request. A funeral mass will take place at St. Dunstan’s Roman Catholic Church in Fredericton on Saturday May 14, 2016 at 2:00 pm with Father Bill Brennan officiating. A reception will immediately follow the service at the Monsignor Boyd Family Centre. Interment will follow the reception at St. Joachim’s Cemetery in Boiestown, NB. Pallbearers will be Jason Swazey, Kenneth Price, Joel Ross, Mike Gillespie, David Stewart, and Brian Stewart.

For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, NB Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society.
