She credited her longevity to her mobility, being active. On her 95th birthday, she did her annual walk on the Fredericton Train Bridge Walking Trail both ways. It was wonderful Joan was able to live out her final years in her own home, being cared for by her daughter Carol.

Joan was the last surviving member of her immediate family. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Donald M. Moore in 2004; brothers Derek Clingo (Francis), Keith Clingo (Edith); sisters, Eileen Ebbett (Norman), Marjorie Burgess (Charles), Kathleen Gaunce (George).

The family would like to thank Joan’s neighbours, Pat Tozer, Edith Corbett, Connie Steeves, Mary, Wilfred and Nancy Waite for their many acts of kindness over the years.

Cremation has taken place. Keeping with her wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral. A private graveside committal service will be held at Forest Hill Cemetery at a later date.

For those who wish, donations to the Fredericton SPCA would be appreciated. Bishop’s Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton, NB, have been entrusted with the arrangements.
