With heavy hearts, the family of Phillip Edward Gaul of Fredericton announce his passing at the Dr. Chalmers Regional Hospital on January 13, 2016, he was 67. Born in Middleton N.S, a son of the late Gerald and Ethelwyn (Trimper) Gaul.

After graduating Survey School in Lawrencetown N.S. in 1967, Phil started his career with the Council of Maritime Premiers in PEI. In 1986 he transferred to N.B to work with the Provincial Government NBGIC. Phil will be sadly missed by his many friends and family members.

Phil’s love was for the outdoors, hunting, fishing & walking the trails. His pride and joy are his two sons, Daniel and James and his new daughter-in-law Francisca.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years Emily (Brothers) Gaul, two sons Daniel (Francisca) of Dobbs Ferry NY USA, James of Calgary Alberta, two brothers David (Mona) of Bridgewater N.S and Peter of Hinton Alberta. Predeceased by two brothers William and James Gaul. 

Resting at Bishop’s Funeral Home 540 Woodstock Road Fredericton, where the family will receive friends and visitors on Saturday January 16th 2016 from 1 until 2 PM followed by a Celebration of Life Service in Bishop’s Funeral Home Chapel with Father Monte Peters officiating.

For those who wish, memorial donations in Phil’s memory can be made to the IWK Children’s Hospital at the family’s request.

The family would also like to extent a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Cheryl Rushton, all other Doctors who assisted in Phil's care, father Aaron Knox and all the nurses on Four North West at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital, especially Debbie and Sherry for their outstanding compassion & care given to Phil during his time there.
