The passing of Edith R. Henry, of Fredericton occurred at Shannex, Thomas Hall, on Monday, January 11, 2016, a month after celebrating her 90th birthday. Born in Springhill, NB on December 6, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Cecil and Charlotte (Payne) Henry.
Edith was a lifelong member of the Anglican Church of St. Peter, Springhill, NB and retired in 1987 after 31 years employed with the Department of Health, Province of NB.
Survived by her sister Constance "Irene" Payne (late husband Emerson) of Fredericton; special nephew Allen Henry of Fredericton; numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by 5 sisters Beatrice Bruce (Harry), Gwendolyn Hill (James), Margaret "Edna" Taylor (Donald), Frederica Taylor (Ralph) and Marion Ballard (Malcolm); 3 brothers Harold (Helen), Cyril and Robert.
A 'Celebration of Life" will be held at the Anglican Church of St. Peter, Springhill, NB on Friday May 20, 2016 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Dr. Ross Hebb officiating. A reception will be held in the Church Hall immediately following the interment.
The family has designated the Anglican Church of St. Peter or a charity of your choice for memorial contributions. Bishop’s Funeral Home 540 Woodstock Road have been entrusted with arrangements.
