On the morning of Friday, November 20, Lorna (Thomas) Semple of Fredericton passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. Lorna was born on November 12, 1928 in Hamtown Corner, New Brunswick. 

Lorna will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Harvey Semple; daughter Marilyn Gail (Don) Nixon; son Eric Semple (Winifred Chew); grandchildren Carey Smith (Iain MacDonald), David Smith (Andree-Line), David Semple, and Morgan Semple; and, great-grandchildren Mitchell and Jeremy Palmater, Kaleb and Jadon Gray, and Gabriel Smith.

Lorna lived a very active life up to her passing. She was a member of Saint Paul’s United Church, IODE Tilley Chapter, Capital Winter Club, UNB Faculty Women's Club, and Fredericton Lawn Bowling Club. 

In addition to her parents, Annie and Benjamin Thomas, Lorna is predeceased by son David Semple; brothers Lorne Thomas, Douglas Thomas, John Thomas; and sister, Mary Trail. 

The family would like to extend their thanks to Dr. Paul Kerr and the nurses who compassionately cared for her. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of Lorna may be made to the Chalmers Regional Hospital Foundation or Alzheimer Society of New Brunswick. 

A celebration of Lorna’s life will take place on Wednesday, November 25 at 2pm at Bishops Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton.
