The passing of Marcelle Larkin of Fredericton occurred Friday, September 11, 2015 at Thomas Hall-Shannex at the age of 94. Marcelle was born in Quebec on November 19, 1920, a daughter of the late Joseph and Elisabeth (Vigneault) Gagnon.

Marcelle was a member of St. Dunstan’s Church in Fredericton. She worked in the Accounting Department at Sears, Fredericton, prior to her retirement. Life was truly an adventure to Marcelle and she lived it to the fullest and travelling was only one way she consumed the world around her. Her love of nature whether taking a walk and taking in the beauty of it all or spending time in her garden was alway's a delight in her life. An avid reader, Marcelle read with expectation of expanding her interests and opening her mind to a passion she never knew existed. Reading always had her totally captivated.

Marcelle leaves behind two loving and devoted daughters, Ann Larkin-Roy (Bernie) of Florida and Suzanne Larkin of Fredericton. She dearly loved and was continuously delighted by her two granddaughters, Olivia Roy of Florida and Vanessa Roy of Indiana. She is also survived by a sister Nicole living in Quebec as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents and husband Desmond Larkin, Marcelle was predeceased by her son John Larkin in 1986; four brothers and six sisters.

There will be no visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Dunstan’s Church, Fredericton on Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at 11:00 AM with Father Bill Brennan as celebrant. Interment will be private.

The family wish to thank the Nurses and Staff of Thomas Hall for the amazing and loving care Marcelle received while a resident there. We will be forever grateful for your every kindness.

In lieu of flowers, the family have suggested the Diabetes Association (NB) or the Canadian Cancer Society for memorial contributions.
