It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Aletha Frances (McManus, Pyne, Beek) wife of the late Robert Underhill, on August 16, 2015 at the Dr. Chalmers Regional Hospital in Fredericton surrounded by family. Born in Fredericton, NB, on December 24, 1928 she was a daughter of the late John and Kathleen (Owens) McManus.

Aletha enjoyed her last few years at Terraces on Cliffe in Fredericton.

Survived by her son Larry Pyne (Darlene) of Oromocto; daughters Linda Gilmore and Diane Lee (Gary) of Fredericton and Loretta Munn (Wendell) of Quispamsis; 10 special grandchildren Roger, Brenda, Robbie, Jeff, Terry, Jason, Heather, Kelly, Shara and Bryan; 11 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; a brother Leo McManus (Sheila) of Woodstock; nieces and nephews. Besides her parents Aletha was predeceased by a daughter Carolyn Fraser, grandson Shane Gilmore, sister Mary King, husbands Hayward Pyne and Wendell Beek.

The family will receive family and friends at Bishop’s Funeral Home 540 Woodstock Road on Thursday August 20, 2015 from 12:00 to 2:00 PM at which time a celebration of Aletha’s life will be held at Bishop’s Funeral Home Chapel  with Rev. Mike Orser officiating. Interment in the Sunny Bank Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons. Donations to the Alzheimers Society would be greatly appreciated.
