Shelley S. Rautio

The passing of Shelley Suzanne Rautio of Hanwell, NB occurred on September 16, 2008. She was 48. Born March 27, 1960 in Truro, NS, she was the daughter of the late John Edward and Loleta (Hall) Bagnell. Shelley was employed as a Lab Technician at UNB for a number of years. She had a great love for animals especially horses.

A doting mother who loved her children dearly, she leaves behind two children, her son Matti Michael Rautio and daughter Lauren Anne Rautio both of Hanwell; brothers and sisters, Donald Bagnell (Diane) of Truro, NS, Diane Bagnell (Don) of New Glasgow, NS, Marilyn Murphy (Jim) of Ottawa, Ont. and James Bagnell (Nicole) of Truro, NS. Shelley is also survived by her special companion Austin Nickerson and former spouse David Rautio; sister-in-law Ronda Bagnell and brother-in-law David Fitzpatrick; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by her parents; a brother John Bagnell and a sister Cathy Fitzpatrick.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Bishop’s Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton on Friday, September 19, 2008 from 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held from Bishop’s Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday at 11:00 AM with Rev. Doug Hapeman officiating.

Interment at a later date. The family has suggested that memorial contributions be sent to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Fredericton SPCA or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
