At the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on Saturday, September 13, 2008,
Ronald Reid Murphy passed away at the age of 80. Born in St. John NB,
he was the son of the late William & Elvina Murphy.
He is survived by his wife Ludivine (Durelle) three sons Michael
(Solange) Gary (Lisa), Richard (Christine), grandchildren Jason,
Ronnie, Ashley, Jonathan, Jeffrey, Amanda and two sisters Constance
Steeves and Helen Smith (Earl). Also predeceased by granddaughter,
Jennifer, and two sisters Dorothy Hansen and Marjorie Wilson.
He served with the first Battalion PPCLI during the Korean War,
employed with DND-CFB Gagetown until retirement, and was a member of
IOOF Lodge and past Noble Grand.
The family will receive friends at Bishop’s Funeral Home 540
Woodstock Road Fredericton on Monday September 15th from 3:30 to 5pm
& 7-9 PM, & then again on Tuesday from 11 am to 12 noon. A
funeral service will be held at the Holy Family Catholic Church on the
Hanwell Road Fredericton on Tuesday, September 16th at 2 Pm with
father Jack Dolan officiating. Interment will follow in the Hermitage
Cemetery. For those who wish, donations can be made to the charity of
the donor’s choice.
